New Horned Frog George Baltimore is a prospect that packs a lot of punch on both sides of the ball. That is why he pulled down an abundance of scholarship offers. But it was the TCU offer that grabbed his eye the the most.

George Baltimore, a 5-foot-11, 195-pound Scout.com three-star safety from Mansfield (Texas) High is a versatile athlete.

On Friday nights The Scout.com three-star prospect will likely star on both sides of the ball in 2012 at safety and running back.

Defensively, at safety he is a player who can cover ground and deliver a big blow, but has a knack for making big plays.

As a junior, Baltimore racked up impressive defensive stats. He had 76 tackles, 15 pass break ups and 7 interceptions – 3 of which he took back for scores. He also was a factor in the return game and rushed for 140 yards.

It was no surprise when he started to reel in offers from all over the country. He reported offers from programs like Arkansas, Baylor, Arizona State, Iowa, Iowa State, Illinois, Michigan State, West Virginia and others.

"Everyday in the coaches office the letters were stacked a foot high," Baltimore said with a smile.

But it was an offer from Gary Patterson and the TCU Horned Frogs that he accepted on Monday morning. He announced his intentions via social media.

"Hey Twitter I just committed," exclaimed an excited Baltimore!

Baltimore actually had some schools talking to him about playing offense, but he definitely has a defensive mindset, which was clearly evident when we asked him about his on the field idols.

"Patrick Peterson, Tyrann Mathieu, LaRon Landry and Darrelle Revis -- great players," Baltimore began.

"When people go in to the game they know that they are going to have it on lockdown. They know if they throw it that way that is 50-50 on if they are going to catch it or it is going to get picked."
