TCU 2012 Top Impact Players
With the start of the 2012 season just days away when the Frogs report to camp on August 6th, HFB.com takes a look at the top 11 impact players that are vital to the Frogs success in their inaugural season in the Big 12.
In at #4 on the list of impact players is junior receiver Josh Boyce. There's no question that when it came to big plays in 2011, Boyce was on the receiving end of many of them. He'll be looked at to do the same in 2012.
#4 Josh Boyce
Ht: 6-0 | Wt: 203
2011 stats: 61 catches, 998 yards, 9 TD
Best game of 2011: 5 catches, 163 yards, 3 TD vs. Boise State
Accolades: First-Team Mountain West, Biletnikoff Watch List
What makes Boyce an impact player?
In two short years, Boyce is already regarded as one of the top receivers in TCU history. He made his name as a redshirt freshman, but his production against Boise State last year on the road, including his clutch catch on the go-ahead two-point conversion will be remembered by TCU fans for quite a while. He also had a breakout performance against Baylor, hauling in 9 catches. Last season Boyce fell just two yards shy of the 1,000 yard mark which would have made him just the second receiver in TCU history to accomplish that feat. Boyce is the most talented of a talented group of TCU receivers and with Casey Pachall throwing him the ball; Boyce should reach 1,000 receiving yards in 2012. In fact, Boyce should be one of if not the top producing receiver in the Big 12 in the Frogs' inaugural season. He's again on the Biletnikoff watch list as one of the top receivers in the country.
