moved to 3-0 on the season with a 27-7 victory over Virginia last Saturday and several key targets from the 2013 class were in attendance to catch the action.
Among those players was one of the top targets left on their board; Waco defensive lineman Andrew Billings.
The four-star and nation's no. 17 rated defensive tackle prospect who has visited TCU several times, came away very impressed with the visit.
"I liked everything, everything went well," he said. "I had a great visit."
Although Billings admits it was very hot during the game, he was pleasantly surprised that the TCU fans came out early despite the conditions to support their team.
"It was hot but it was a great atmosphere," he said. "The fans showed up even at 11 o'clock. It was a hot and early game and I honestly didn't expect too many people to come out there and get out of bed but they did. It was a pretty good crowd and I liked the new stadium. I also love the locker room, they did great on it."
TCU's defense fell just a few minutes shy of holding their third consecutive opponent without a touchdown. Billings took notice of the good effort and said he particularly liked the way the defensive line had fresh guys in all game with a steady rotation.
"I think the defense played well, they had a great rotation on the line, nobody was in for more than ten plays (at a time) and the secondary did real well with the coverage," Billings said. "I liked it. #95 (Fields) played pretty good."
Billings said with the Frogs playing 15 true freshmen on the year, he knows that when he's told of the chance to play early, TCU means it.
As for what the TCU coaches told him on Saturday?
"They're telling me that I have a home at TCU," he said.
Billings says he's "pretty much done" visiting other programs and a decision could come very soon. He maintains that TCU, Baylor and Texas are the leaders.
Waco is off to a 2-1 start and Billings starts on both offense and defense for the Lions. They travel north to Cleburne this Friday to open district play.
Waco, Texas defensive tackle Andrew Billings is one of the top players at his position in the country. He recently took a visit to TCU and talks with HornedFrogBlitz.com about his experience.
