Manning Talks TCU Visit

Five-star defensive tackle Justin Manning took an official visit to TCU last weekend.

Five star defensive tackle Justin Manning said his official visit to TCU Saturday was "very good."

"Everything went smooth," Manning said. "I had a good time with the coaches and the players and all that."

Manning said the first thing he did was take an academic tour before getting a look at the athletic facilities as well.

"The new locker room and everything we saw," Manning said. "We also went up and ate a couple of times before we chilled with the players and guys."

The Dallas native is ranked as the no. 22 prospect by Fox Sports NEXT. TCU was the third official visit for Manning who had already taken his official visits to Oklahoma and Texas A&M. Manning said he also got time to interact with TCU head coach Gary Patterson.

"We spoke, and he was talking to my mom about me and the [program]," Manning said.

When asked what really caught his eye at TCU, he did not hesitate to answer. "The new locker room. They got a nice brand new locker room," Manning said.

"The next visit for me was going to be LSU, but the LSU visit was going to be the same day as my homecoming game, so I'm going to have to cancel it," Manning said.

Manning said that he is not sure if he will be able to reschedule, but "if I do reschedule it, it will be for the LSU and Alabama game."

So how do Manning's three official visits compare thus far?

"Well, they were all really good as far as the visit goes. It's tough," Manning explained.

The 6'2, 275 pound interior lineman said that his season at Dallas Kimball has gone "very very well."

"I am making more reads now instead of just bull rushing," said Manning who feels like he is now relying on his mental game as well as his physical game.

Manning is down to five schools: TCU, USC, Texas A&M, LSU, and Oklahoma. He is the 5th ranked defensive tackle in the class of 2013.
