Miles Joins The Aggie Boat
"With everything happening at Tennessee with Coach Dooley, I needed to look at my options," Miles said last week. "A&M is in the SEC and they are winning. They are also in Texas and that's why I'm excited to receive an offer from Coach Sumlin."
So it doesn't come as much of a surprise that Miles called Coach Dooley Wednesday afternoon and officially de-committed from the Volunteers. Then, hours later he phoned Texas A&M defensive backs coach Marcel Yates and committed to the Aggies.
"I called Coach Yates and he was pretty excited when I told him I wanted to be an Aggie," Miles said. "He gave the phone to Coach Sumlin and he congratulated me and was happy to have me on-board."
So why Texas A&M and why now?
"It's a Texas school and I want to represent my home state," Miles said. "I wanted to play in the SEC, and A&M proved they can win in the SEC. If you can go into Alabama and win, you can beat anybody."
The most important piece of information here is that Miles said his commitment tonight ends the recruiting process and he will not take any other visits except the one to A&M. The date of that visit will depend on his team's playoff run. They face Frisco Centennial this weekend where they are expected to win and advance.
Miles plans to graduate with his class in May.
