Sims Attending TCU Junior Day

Sims Attending TCU Junior Day

Cameron Sims is ranked as the No. 214 overall player in the country and has offers from programs nationwide, including TCU. He'll be making his way to Ft. Worth next weekend for TCU's junior day.

TCU will host their second junior day on February 23rd and many of the top players from the Dallas-Ft. Worth area are expected to be in attendance. One player however will be making a four-hour drive from the east to attend as Ouachita Parish receiver Cameron Sims plans to attend with his coach.

Sims, a 6-foot-4, 195-pounder receiver, is one of the fastest rising prospects in the entire country. He's already rated as the No. 214 player overall in the FOX Sports NEXT 300. The fleet receiver already has a who's who list of offers to choose from; Alabama, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Louisiana, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Miss, Texas Tech, ULM, Washington and TCU.

Sims grew up watching former TCU receiver Jimmy Young play at his school and it's the biggest reason why he was excited to get the Frogs offer.

"It's real cool getting an offer from TCU because Jimmy Young played there and he made it to the pros," Sims said. "I watched him because he was from here."

The trip down to TCU will be his first time on the Ft. Worth campus.

"I'm coming down with my coach. He said it up, me and my running back are coming down," he said. "We're coming down on the 23rd."

With programs across the country offering Sims, it's an exciting experience for him knowing that it's finally his turn to get some attention.

"It's real exciting because I always wanted to have offers," he said. "I've been watching other people get offers from the previous years and I've always wanted to be like that. Now, I'm like them."

What is he looking for the most in a program?

"I'm looking at how many receivers they put in the league and do they throw the ball to the receivers a lot," Sims said.
