LB Spring Risers in Texas

Prime Prep LB Josh Ehambe

FOX Sports NEXT takes a look at a few players in the state of Texas who have started to see some movement in the recruiting process. In fact, we estimate that this spring even more interest, and offers will come their way. Check out the players we think will keep college coaches coming to their school in heavy rotation. Today we look at the linebackers.

LB Noah Westerfield (6-3, 205) – Frisco (TX) Wakeland
LSU seems to be the overwhelming favorite for Westerfield, but so far has not hauled in that first offer. Schools like Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Baylor and New Mexico have been in contact and showing interest. Look for more interest, and possible offers to happen over the next couple of months.

LB Taylor Holmes (6-2, 205) – Houston (TX) Cypress Woods
Looking over this entire list, Holmes could be the true sleeper of the group. For now, UTSA has shown the most interest, but Ole Miss, Virginia and Duke have made some contact along the way. He is one who will benefit plenty from spring workouts with college coaches present.

LB Josh Ehambe (6-3, 225) – Dallas (TX) Prime Prep
So far there is only SMU on the table, but at the rate that the interest in coming in for Ehambe, there will be more offers in hand soon enough. TCU (a school that there is mutual interest), Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Texas A&M, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Indiana have shown interest. Though he plays some defensive line at Prime Prep, he will likely end up at linebacker on the college level.

LB Jake Blomstrom (6-2, 225) – Katy (TX) HS
After playing a key role in an undefeated season and a state title at the highest level of football in the Lone Star, Blomstrom has been hearing from a number of schools including Boise State, LSU and Oklahoma State, the latter two have both seen him on campus. Despite early reports, he has yet to pull in that first offer. According to his dad, it is about "90 percent" that Colorado will be the first to step up. As spring goes on, more will follow the lead of the Buffs.

LB Bradley Cunningham (6-2, 210) – Houston (TX) Westside
He showed well at the NLA Top 100 in Pasadena, TX, and it seems as though now his video has made its way through a couple of coaches offices. Now Auburn and Houston are starting to look at Cunningham. He is one to keep an eye on this spring.

LB Reggie Long (6-1, 215) – Whitehouse (TX) HS
He has been hearing quite a bit from Washington State, but Long has Baylor, Tulsa, Memphis and SMU looking at him for the moment. He had a solid season with 80 tackles and six sacks and should see a bump in recruitment come spring.
