Spring, TX quarterback Darius Lee-Campbell isn’t rushing the process. Why should he, he’s reached double-digits in offers and they don’t appear to be stopping anytime soon.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder has offers from Colorado, Iowa State, Memphis, Rice, New Mexico, UTSA, Wake Forest, Texas State and TCU among others.
Arizona State could be the next program to extend an offer to the athletic signal caller.
“I still have twelve offers right now,” Lee-Campbell said. “I’m talking to Arizona State the last couple of weeks. They’re sitting down and going over all of their quarterbacks and I should be getting an offer from them pretty soon. The coach called me a couple of days ago and said they’re real interested in me.”
Lee-Campbell visited TCU in late April and came away very impressed with his visit to the campus. Although many of the programs have offered him as a quarterback, TCU is one of the few recruiting him as an athlete. That doesn’t seem to bother Lee-Campbell but he notes that he hasn’t talked to TCU in quite a while.
“I haven’t talked to the coach at TCU in about a month or so,” he said. “I messaged him on Facebook and he hasn’t got back to me.”
Although the communication has lessened in the last month, Lee-Campbell says the Frogs aren’t out of it.
“I still have an interest in TCU,” he said.
Lee-Campbell does say that one school is standing out above the others at the moment.
“The only school that’s standing out to me right now is Iowa State,” Lee-Campbell said. “They have everything that I’m looking for. The coach they have is the same coach that coached Colin Kaepernick, so that’s always a positive.”
As for his former home state school, Colorado, Lee-Campbell says the Buffalos are still an option and he plans to visit Boulder this season.
“I’ve been talking to them, I’ll probably go back during the football season or maybe after the season for an official visit,” he said.
