Dallas (TX) South Oak Cliff is home to perhaps the highest number of D-1 athletes in the talent rich Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex.
Whether as a 2015, 2016 or 2017 prospect, South Oak Cliff has become a must-see destination for college recruiters.
Among the top prospects for the Golden Bears is 2016 prospect Marvin Terry. The defensive end/linebacker is up to 11 offers now with TCU, Louisville, UCLA, California, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Wisconsin among others.
Terry is happy to be drawing such attention with nearly two years to go before the 2016 signing day.
"It's great, it feels good knowing that I have a chance to go to college," he said.
TCU offered Terry during the spring evaluation period. This past Saturday, Terry was among several high profile 2016 recruits who attended TCU's sophomore day.
"It was cool, I loved it," Terry said of the TCU visit. "The staff was real friendly; they made it feel like home. I just loved the whole thing."
During the visit, Terry also had a chance to sit down one-on-one with TCU head football coach Gary Patterson.
"He was real cool and he's there for you," he said. "He'll help you get your degree; he just talked about so much."
Although he played primarily as a defensive end in 2013, most colleges see Terry as a future linebacker. That's where TCU sees him as well.
"We didn't talk about the defense much but they said they love me at linebacker," he said.
At the moment, Terry is unsure what camps he'll attend this summer.
