TCU in Raymond's Top 3

Four-star cornerback Deshawn Raymond is one of the most coveted corners in the nation. He recently visited TCU.

As a four-star recruit and nation's No.33 cornerback prospect, Deshawn Raymond is a highly coveted recruit. The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder out of Metairie, Louisiana has schools from across the country vying for his services.

Florida State, Georgia, Nebraska, Mississippi State, TCU and LSU are just a few of the programs that have offered Raymond thus far.

"I think I have 15 offers, LSU is my latest offer," he said. "It was good because it's an in-state offer and one of my dream schools. It was a nice offer."

Raymond plans to visit LSU and Mississippi State later this summer but first he made the drive to DFW to participate in a TCU camp and visit the campus.

"I thought I did well at the camp; I put all of the techniques together that Coach (Kenny) Perry taught me and I think I did my best," he said. "By me being a long corner, they taught me to keep my weight low. I learned to use my feet before my hands."

At the moment, Raymond has very good things to say about the Frogs; particularly his relationship with the coaches.

"I like TCU, I want to play at a place where I have a good relationship with the coaches and I already feel like I already know the coaches and can talk to them about anything," he said.

Raymond says TCU's reputation of developing players is also a plus, admitting that Jason Verrett getting drafted in the first round is a bonus for the school in his eyes.

"It helps a lot because he went to the NFL and that's everybody's dream," he said. "That's a bonus."

With several offers on the table, Raymond is still considering every option. However, he says three teams have begun to stand out above the others.

"I'm still looking at everybody but TCU, Mississippi State and LSU are my top three right now," Raymond said.
