Small Makes 15 Commits!

TCU landed their 15 commitment on Wednesday as Arlington (TX) Bowie defensive back Niko Small committed to the Frogs.

TCU added their 15th commitment to their 2015 class on Wednesday as Arlington (TX) Bowie defensive back Niko Small announced his commitment to the Frogs via Twitter.

Small received an offer from the Frogs on Tuesday and gave HFB his thoughts on receiving the offer.

"It's just a great blessing. It also shows me they truly want me because they have limited space left and they still gave me an offer," Small said.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder received the offer from Frogs' head coach Gary Patterson. The offer doesn't come as a surprise to those who were in attendance at TCU's skills camp last week where Small was one of the top performers in attendance; running a 4.4 forty and 4.0 shuttle.

Small says Patterson made it known on Tuesday that they wanted Small to join the fold.

"He said that they want me a lot, and he wanted to make sure i heard it from him that i have an official offer," Small said of his talk with Patterson.

The defensive back had his decision made less than 24 hours after receiving the offer. Small says TCU just felt like the right place.

"I felt the school was just a right fit," Small said. "They don't have too many free safeties on the roster. (It also has) great education."

According to Small, he's being recruited by the Frogs as a safety and cornerback.

Small joins his good friend and Arlington Bowie teammate Tony James as part of the Frogs' recruiting class. He will also reunite with his former head coach at Bowie; Kenny Perry who is now the TCU cornerbacks coach.
