Attaway Getting Noticed

Attaway Getting Noticed

Will TCU look to dip in to the Cen-Tex area for talent in the class of 2016? If so, Cairo Attaway might be worth a look.

Cairo Attaway is another in a long line of talented players to come out of the Waco area in recent years. The 5’11” 165 pound corner back is an intriguing prospect from the 2016 class. HornedFrogBlitz.com caught up with Attaway to get his take on the recruiting process and to see if he has any visits lined up for the summer.

”No sir, just multiple spring game, junior day and camp invites” answered Attaway when asked if he had any offers to date.

While he has yet to reel in an offer, Attaway is drawing interest from several programs, one of those being TCU. Even though an offer has never been discussed with the Frogs, TCU has still reached out to the talented defender and let it be known that there is a certain level of interest.

”I was invited to their spring game they had on April 5th” he said. “I was also invited to their series of camps this summer.”

Attaway wasn’t able to make it to the spring game but says he hopes to be in Fort Worth on July 18th for what looks to be a big time camp for the Horned Frogs.

Interest has continued to pick up for the young DB and he’s hearing from programs such as UTSA (more than anyone else), Arkansas, Kentucky, North Texas, Houston, Louisiana Lafayette and Oklahoma State. He also picked up a camp invite from Stanford in addition to the interest he’s received from TCU. There is one school that he hasn’t heard from yet though that he hopes will reach out in the near future, and it sounds like he likes what he sees in them.

”Probably Texas A&M for sure” said Attaway when asked who he would like to hear from. “I’d like to hear more from them.”

When it comes to where a program is located, Attaway says he hardly ever leaves the state of Texas so distance “is kind of a factor.” He points out that the most important thing when narrowing down his list of schools is the fact that he wants to earn his degree and prepare for a career after football. The school that provides the best opportunity for him in that regard, will get the final nod.
