TCU on top for Daniels

The TCU Horned Frogs are already off to a great start in the 2016 class and they're hoping to keep the momentum going. They've targeted Euless Trinity lineman, Chris Daniels as a must have, and from the sound of things, Daniels feels a great connection with the Frogs.

The TCU Horned Frogs are a defensive juggernaut in an offensive league. Not only does that make what they do more impressive on the defensive side of the ball, it proves that a team can play defense in a league known for lighting up the scoreboard.

As the Frogs continue to add pieces to their vaunted defense, they continue to scour the metroplex for the next phenom to add to the mix. Well, they think they've found him. Euless Trinity is well known for producing top flight talent annually, but Chris Daniels may turn out to be the best of the bunch. HornedFrogBlitz.com caught up with the 6'3" 284 pound Daniels and Frog fans will like what he had to say.

"I went to a camp and Coach Fitch, the defensive tackle that played at TCU in 2005, said that he'd never seen anybody like me" said Daniels. "He said I was one of the biggest, fastest linemen he had ever seen."

During the satellite camp in Plano, Daniels tore up the competition and really stood out. The TCU staff noticed and the freakish lineman shot to the top of the Frog's most wanted list.

"I really like TCU because they treat me like one of their own already" he said. "They treat me like family and I really like that."

With offers on the table Western Michigan and now TCU, Daniels says a third school has recently thrown their hat into the ring. According to the Trinity star, USC has offered him and the offer, along with the one from the Frogs, could elevate him to elite prospect status in the very near future.

As the Frogs continue to make headway in recruiting the DFW metroplex, and more and more top level prospects stay home, the Frogs talent pool continues to increase. They hope adding Daniels will show once again that they're a force to be reckoned with on the local recruiting trail. From the sound of things, the 2016 class might be the Frogs' best yet.

"TCU is number one on my list" said Daniels. He added that he's not sure when he'll make his final decision. "No sir, I do not (know)" he said. "I will when I feel its best."

While Daniels currently holds 3 offers, expect that to change in the very near future. The big lineman is hearing from programs such as Texas, Alabama, OSU, OU, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue and Notre Dame to name a few. While it would be east to rest on what he's already accomplished, Daniels has worked hard this summer in preparation for a big junior season.

"I've been working on my hands and more agility" said Daniels. "My goal is to play for the person next to me and not worry about myself too much, just put the team before myself."

"If I do that, and do my job right, I can get to the next level" he said. "If we put God first and do exactly what our coaches say, I think we'll make it all the way to state."
